How did you hear out about SkippyStak? - Andrew Cool - 13-03-2016
Hi All,
I'm interested to hear how SkippyStak users came to the program. How did you hear about SkippyStak? Was it a referral from another SkippyStak user,
or a post on the DSS group, or ....?
If you like SkippyStak, please do spread the Gospel of SkippyStak to your astro friends... ;-)

Starry Dave told me about it! I apparently didn't enter it correctly as a Referrer though. Didn't have the space between names.

I have got your link through an email from a Yahoo group - not sure which one, possibly your own Avistack as I used to use it a bit - I do not have much time for astronomy but I am trying to get into it a bit more [getting older].
So, I downloaded yesterday and this afternoon I though to try it with an image I did sometime ago and I have to say, it might be better than Deep Sky Stacker.
I have not been long doing Deep Sky Imaging [learning].
I think the result is 'better staked and clearer!

... I forgot to mention it takes a lot of memory [my computer is fast], but this is a beta and it is understandable and I believe images are sharper than DSS, but I only tried one small stack of 3 'decent' images

There's no point in having oodles of RAM, and never using it. I have 32GB on board and sometimes max out.
Seriously considering upgrading to 64GB.
There's no point in having a 64bit OS if you're not planning on accessing more than 3.2GB of RAM.
The whole point of a computer is to compute!
Always, but always but the best and most capable machine you can possibly afford (and then some) without
letting the Treasurer know too much about it.
Lastly, thanks for trying SkippyStak! Please spread the Gospel of SkippyStak... ;-)

Hi Andrew,
I found SkippyStak on your SkippySky site (which I love to use). I run a Mac, so I need to run it in a Parallels window, which may or may not be possible.
I'm just getting into sky gazing and astrophotography... so I suspect I'll need to learn what light, dark and bias frames are lol. - not to mention just how to align my scope to SCP when I can't even see Octans! *grumble*.
